Image for MEMEFEST festival (CCCB)

Art direction and illustrations for Memefest 2019, for CCCB Museum Barcelona.

After the success of the first edition, the CCCB held the event again in 2019. I was asked to create the image for the 2019 edition of the festival as well (you can check the 2018 design here). The design follows the vibe from the previous one: it has to be funny, connect with the audience and be a bit sassy.

During the first edition I focused on popular memes, but this time I wanted to make a tribute to what's behind that: the anonymous people who create this content without expecting to be recognized for it. Real heroes, if you ask to me :) So the idea to create a heroes and heroines gang came to me. With their DIY costumes and tools. I always liked the Japanese sci-fi cosplays and poses, so I mixed it with the concept.

If you want to see more Memefest content, you can check in this link all the talks, debates and the famous "meme fight". It's funny and interesting, you're not gonna regret it!

*This project was nominated for the Premis Junceda 2020.
